Roy Edward “Ed Roy” Smith, was born May 4, 1944, to Hiram Smith and Barbara (Barton) Smith in Alton, Missouri. He went home to his Lord and Savior on December 15, 2022, at Heart of the Ozarks Health Center in Ava, Missouri at the age of 78. Ed Roy grew up in Alton Missouri where he married his first wife Minnie Pearl Hooper on September 22, 1962. Their marriage was blessed with Tony Edward Smith and wife Laurie of West Plains, Missouri, deceased infant son Michael Roy Smith, Tammy Jane McMaster and husband Michael of Ava, Missouri and Tina Marie Greninger and husband Dee of Edmond, Oklahoma. On December 13, 1989, Ed Roy married his second wife Martha Antha Norris. To that marriage he was blessed with three adult step children and two minor step daughters who he also helped raise. Preceding Ed Roy in death are his parents, infant son, brothers Elvie Smith and Shelby Smith, sisters Wanda Sisco and Colene Mobley, and step daughter Patricia Ann Murphy. Survivors include his three children, step daughter Lattina Reese, two brothers, Howard Smith and his wife Nadine of Glenoma, Washington, Lonnie Smith of Alton, Missouri, nine grandchildren, Michael, Randi, Breann, Daxton, Brendon, Brandon, Nikki, Alaina, Mitchell and many other step grandchildren, three great grandchildren, Allison, Kameron and Olivia. Services will be 10:00 am Monday, December 19, 2022, at the Clary Funeral Home, Alton, MO, with visitation Sunday, 5-7:00 pm. Burial will be in the Bailey Cemetery. Pallbearers: Michael Smith, Brendon Wilmoth, Daxton Dye, David Smith, Michael McMaster and Eric Smith.
