Eugene Norman Johnson was born in Greer, MO June 16, 1935 to Samuel and Claries Johnson.

He was one of fourteen children. Eugene grew up in Alton, MO and graduated from Alton High school. In 1958 Eugene was drafted into the Army and served two years. A few years later he married Pansy Thompson in 1961.

In January of 1968 they welcomed their only son, Mark, into their family. Eugene retired as a cable splicer from Dayton Power and Light. He enjoyed many hobbies including fishing, coon hunting, baseball, raising hunting dogs, being active in church, being around his family, and singing.

Eugene leaves behind twelve brothers and sister, his son Mark, daughter in law Stacey, six grandchildren Ryan, Jake, Marc Christopher, Sophie, Benjamin, Caroline and one great grandchild Lucas. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Services will be 1:00 pm Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at the Wilderness Freewill Baptist Church, with Bro. Wayne Adrian officiating. Burial to follow in the Wilderness Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-7:00 pm Tuesday at the Clary Funeral Home, Alton, MO.

Pallbearers will be Jake Johnson, Marc Christopher Johnson, Virgil Simpson, Mark Barton, Keith Waller and Michael Stavac.
