Edna Leona Shafer was born to the late Herman and Emma Tollas in Baroda, MI on June 23, 1922 and passed away from this life at the age of 99 and three days at Shepherd’s View in Alton, MO on June 26, 2021. Edna was united in marriage to Erwin Shafer on October 20, 1946 who preceded her in death on August 17, 2003. Survivors include four sons and their wives, Douglas and Sharon, Alton, MO, Wayne and Peggy, Eau Claire, MI, Richard and Debora, Rockford, MI, Gary and Corien, Johnson City, TN, nine grandchildren, Ronnie, Brian, Grant, Adam, Daniel, Steven, Aaron, Grace Mardis and Sara Kemper, 17 great-grandchildren and one on the way. Edna was a veteran having served as an Army Nurse in WW II. She was a wonderful Christian lady who was always smiling, cheerful and kind. Edna will be laid to rest beside her husband of 57 years in a graveside service 2:00 pm Wednesday June 30, 2021 at Timber Ridge Cemetery, Marshfield, MO. |
