Carl Lee Linson was born on December 4, 1934, in Oregon County Missouri to Fred and Elsie Grooms Linson. He was united in marriage to Kathryn Hoinkis and to this union, five children were born. In 1991, he married Joan Bernier.

Carl was preceded in death by his wife, Kit, his parents, one sister, Lucille Forester, three brothers, Don, Frank, and Lonnie Linson, and two sisters-in-law.

He is survived by his wife, Joan Linson, of the home in Thayer, his children, Carl Lee Linson Jr(Sherry) Bensalem, PA, Cheryl Stewart (John) Levittown, PA, Brian Linson Lakeland, FL, Paul Linson (Joan) Ottsville, PA and Brett Linson (Lori) Oaklyn, NJ, two stepchildren, Dale Bernier, Bensalem, PA, and Robert Bernier (Elvira) Boulder, CO, ten grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren, one sister, Janice Collins Thayer, MO, one brother, Kenneth Linson (Mable) Rutland, IL, one sister-in-law, Martha Linson, Beebe, AR, several special nieces and nephews, and a host of family and friends.

Carl was a member of St Paul United Methodist Church in Thayer.

He attended Koshkonong High School. After high school, he joined the United States Navy. Throughout his enlistment, he and his family lived in various places across the East Coast and settled in Levittown, PA where he lived and raised his family. After retirement from the Navy, he worked for AE Staley and retired from Princeton University.

In 1992, Carl and his wife, Joan, returned home to Missouri where he enjoyed his time puttering on the farm and having Friday lunches with his brothers at Country Cottage. He was an avid vegetable gardener and loved sharing his bounty with his family and friends.

Carl’s sweet spirit and love for his family will be dearly missed.

Graveside services will be 2pm Monday, April 25, 2022, at the Walker Cemetery in Thayer, MO.
